Manufacturing materials
PA11 and PA12 are recyclable polyamides. We mainly use natural polyamide PA11, complemented, for some products and colours, by recycled polyamide PA12. Both materials offer lightness, strength and quality.
PA11 - Natural polyamide
A bio-based material derived from the castor plant, used in additive manufacturing processes (Laser Sintering).
Biocompatibility and safety
The material has undergone biocompatibility testing in accordance with international standards. The tests assessed cytotoxicity, irritation and sensitisation and, under the test conditions, showed no cytotoxic, irritating or sensitising effects. The material also complies with the requirements of the European REACH Regulation concerning the registration, evaluation and control of chemicals. Based on the information available, it does not contain SVHCs above the thresholds established by the Regulation.
PA12 - Recycled polyamide
A partially recycled polyamide powder used in additive manufacturing processes (Laser Sintering).
Biocompatibility and safety
The material has undergone biological testing for cytotoxicity, irritation and sensitisation. Under the test conditions, no cytotoxic, irritating or sensitising reactions were observed. The material also complies with the requirements of the European REACH Regulation. Available data also indicate compliance with USP Plastic Class VI requirements.
Materials used for surface treatments
The pigments used for colouring are not classified as hazardous or toxic. No hazardous decomposition products are known. The products are not subject to labelling requirements under EEC Directive No. 1907/2006.
