In collaboration with the Fondazione Gianfranco Ferré, .bijouets brings new life to two pieces from his collection, reimagined through 3D printing technology
The pieces are presented as part of the exhibition curated by Francesca Alfano “Under Another Light. Jewelry and Ornaments”, held from October 12, 2017 to February 19, 2018 at Palazzo Madama. Organized by the Fondazione Gianfranco Ferré and Fondazione Torino Musei, the exhibition features over 200 jewelry pieces, highlighting the central role of ornament in Ferré’s creative vision.
For Ferré, ornament has always been a passion, inseparably linked to the fashion collections. The objects on display, made for fashion shows from 1980 to 2007, are described as a complement to the dress and its accessory, but they are exhibited along with some clothing in which it is the jewelry itself to invent and to build the dress, becoming its substance and soul. Even in this case, Gianfranco Ferré’s attention to materials is decisive, as an essential part of his research.
For this occasion, two original designs have been selected and reproduced by .bijouets using 3D printing, creating a contemporary reinterpretation that blends heritage with innovation. The pieces are available exclusively at the bookshop of Palazzo Madama throughout the exhibition period.
